Bulletproof Transport Vehicle Project

At the end of 2016, as the main designer, we participated in the non-aggressive military vehicle bidding project of peacekeeping forces.

The use scenarios of customers is peacekeeping operations in Africa, mainly as personnel transport, material transport, personnel rescue, daily patrols, vehicle maintenance and rescue functions.

The core words we defined for this design are: safety, efficiency, easy maintenance, high versatility, high cross-country performance.

We strive to find the balance and interoperability between the use scenarios, so that all parameters of the vehicle except engine power are consistent. This is conducive to vehicle replacement, the maintenance will also be more efficient and cost-effective.

There are four kinds of vehicles, ordinary personnel transport vehicle, fuel transport vehicle, mobile maintenance vehicle, field rescue vehicle and personnel transport vehicle in high-risk areas.

Among them, personnel transport vehicles, fuel transport vehicles and field rescue vehicles in high-risk areas have achieved B6 level bullet-proof of the whole vehicle, while ordinary personnel transport vehicles and mobile maintenance vehicles have achieved B6 level bullet-proof of the cab and chassis according to the needs of customers.

We have done rigorous explosion tests on the bullet-proof part and made bullet-proof tests on the cab, including continuous shooting with AK47.

Tyres and fuel tanks are also the focus of our experiments. We have adopted a military-grade central deflated explosion-proof tire.  At the same time, explosion and high temperature tests were carried out on the fuel tank. The maximum wading depth of the vehicle is more than 1000mm, the uphill angle exceeds 60% and the slope angle exceeds 40%. It has a strong off-road capability. The design of personnel transport vehicles in high-risk areas is different from the other vehicles. On the basis of the original Dongfeng Mengshi, we have greatly upgraded its performance, its explosion-proof capability has improved by 40% and its maneuverability by 60%. At the same time, we have dismantled all the offensive equipment, including military detection radar, roof weapon rack, weapon brackets on both sides, etc. Beacuse we must ensure that the vehicle is used only as a transport vehicle without any attack capability. But we also reinstalled high-precision GPS navigation to ensure the safety of vehicles.

The first 27 vehicles departed in August 2017. More than 200 units have been delivered so far.
