Jan 07, 2023

As the cold snap approaches, drivers should also check these parts of the truck in advance to eliminate safety hazards.

Remember to change antifreeze that has been mixed with water

The main function of antifreeze is to prevent freezing. The freezing point of ordinary water is 0 degrees, while the freezing point of antifreeze is basically around -30 degrees, which prevents the cooling system of the vehicle from being affected by the freezing of the coolant when the vehicle is parked in the cold winter months.

If you have poured water into the tank during a summer emergency, replace the antifreeze before the cold winter sets in. As well as antifreeze, glass water needs to be checked to prevent the glass from fogging up and affecting your vision.

Check the brake air and fuel lines in advance

The drying tank is used to filter the moisture in the air of the air circuit to prevent corrosion of the storage cylinder and various pump valves, and the normal operation of the drying tank directly affects the performance of the brakes.

After a humid and hot summer, the life of the drying tank is basically at an end. To make operations safer, check the condition of the drying tank in time.

It is also advisable to replace exposed spiral tubes in the air circuit in advance if they are cracked or worn.

Water is a common contaminant in diesel fuel and can shorten the life of the engine. Diesel fuel has the property of absorbing water vapour, so diesel filters have the function of separating oil and water.

Before winter comes, check the diesel filter, change it in time when the mileage arrives, check the oil-water separator in time and drain the water from the filter in time.

Check battery performance in advance

The low temperature performance of whatever battery or power cell is in the car is not as good as when it is around 20 degrees. Cold temperatures and vehicle start-ups also consume more power in winter. If the battery has reached the end of its useful life (ranging from 3-5 years), it is best to check the battery performance in advance.
