Precautions for the use of Dongfeng DCI11 engine braking system

1. The J-Brake braking device of the DCI11 engine is a vehicle deceleration device, not a parking device. If you want to stop the vehicle completely, you still need to step on the brake pedal;

2. The driver should be very careful when using the J-Brake engine braking device when there is no trailer or empty trailer. Do not use the engine brake when driving on slippery roads; turn off the engine brake as soon as the road conditions deteriorate;

3. When the road is dry and the vehicle is fully loaded, you may need to select the highest power setting for engine braking. If the road is flat, you may only need medium and low power settings to control the speed;

4. When using the J-Brake engine braking system, make sure that the engine does not overspeed, and at the same time, control the working speed of the engine not to exceed the specified maximum speed;

5. In the general case of using engine braking, the gear used when going uphill is also suitable for going downhill. At the same time, in the process of going downhill, you should not accelerate any more, nor should you change gears;

6. Do not use the engine brake to reduce the engine speed in order to shift gears more easily. If the gear shift is accidentally wrong, it may cause the engine to stall and the vehicle to lose control;

7. Before turning off the vehicle engine, the main power switch should be turned to the off position, so as to ensure that when the engine is started again, the engine braking device will not be activated before reaching the working temperature (only when the oil temperature reaches the working temperature, to use the engine brake);

8. If the engine braking device fails, please turn off the engine braking device immediately and send it for repair immediately. If the engine brake cannot be deactivated, the vehicle should be stopped immediately. Serious engine damage may result if the engine brakes are still working when the accelerator is depressed.
