Why is there no oil pressure?

If the oil is out of pressure, there may be a problem with the oil pump or the oil circuit. It is normal for the oil pressure of a normal diesel engine to be 0.25 to 0.35 MPa.

Reasons for insufficient oil pressure:

1. The oil pump is faulty

Common oil pumps are rotor pumps and gear pumps. Gear pumps are processed a bit rough. If the gasket is not handled properly, it is easy to cause oil leakage or insufficient pump power. Rotor pumps are easy to install backwards, which can cause the oil output rate to drop by more than half. Regardless of the type of pump, if it is used for a long time, excessive wear and tear will cause the oil pressure to drop. When installing the oil pump, you need to empty the air first, otherwise the amount of oil will be abnormal due to the presence of air.

2. The pipeline is blocked or the oil filter is dirty

Blocked pipes or dirty oil filters can cause insufficient oil pressure. If there is air in the pipeline, it also needs to be emptied. Also pay attention to these areas of the radiator, there may also be leaks, and it is necessary to repair the welding in time.

3. Because it is a high-pressure circuit, there are safety valves on the oil circuit. If the safety valve is aging, the spring performance is not good and other problems will cause oil leakage and reduce the oil volume. In the same way, if the oil return valve is abnormal, it will also cause the oil pressure to fluctuate or drop.

4. If the oil is too dirty, the oil suction pan will be blocked and the oil pressure will be insufficient. At this time, you need to replace the new oil and clean the oil suction pan.

5. The gap between the bearing bush and the crankshaft inside the engine becomes larger due to wear, which will also cause insufficient oil pressure. In this case, it needs to be overhauled.
