8 reasons why urea is consumed too quickly
Apr 15, 2020
Vehicles burn too much urea, which bothers many car owners. However, if the vehicle does not burn urea, it will also make the car owners worry. If the SCR system is not used for a long time, the chemicals in the system will be quickly oxidized and the diesel urea nozzles will also be blocked. The system will be scrapped, and the cost of replacing an SCR system is much more expensive than the cost of consuming urea.
At the moment we need to clarify 3 questions about urea use: How much urea is consumed as high consumption? Under what circumstances will urea be consumed? What is the reason for low urea solution?
How much urea is consumed as high consumption?
Urea consumption standard: the national Ⅳ emission standard vehicles will consume 3~5L of urea when consuming 100L of diesel, the national V emission standard vehicles should be relatively more 5~8L.
Under what circumstances will urea be consumed?
According to the working principle of the after-treatment system, when the exhaust gas is discharged from the engine, after the temperature of the exhaust temperature sensor reaches 180 degrees Celsius, it will be fed back to the ECU signal, and the ECU will order the urea pump to start working to build pressure and accumulate pressure, and when the pressure reaches the standard pressure, the urea nozzle will start working. The injected urea will be decomposed into ammonia and water under the high temperature environment and then enter the catalytic tank together with the exhaust gas to react, the ammonia and the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas will react to produce water and nitrogen gas. The whole post-treatment work is completed and the exhaust gas quality meets the standard.
What is the reason for low urea solution?
1. The nitrogen and oxygen sensor detects that the exhaust gas of the vehicle does not meet the standard.
2. the problem of urea nozzle.
3. urea pump problems, urea pump internal failure will lead to build pressure failure, or gas-assisted urea pump is more likely to cause excessive urea consumption.
4. the exhaust temperature sensor will transmit the signal to the computer board at 180 degrees before the nozzle starts to inject urea, if the exhaust temperature sensor is faulty, the temperature does not reach 180 degrees before it starts to inject urea, which will cause more consumption of urea.
5. the vehicle oil and urea quality is poor when the engine produces more harmful gases within the exhaust, so it will require more urea to participate in the reaction, resulting in a high consumption of urea.
6. road conditions, if long-term driving on mountain roads, it will cause insufficient combustion in the engine of the vehicle, the same is also the cause of large consumption of urea.
7. When the engine itself is faulty, it will also create insufficient combustion.
8. Computer program problem. Usually the computer program will limit the amount of urea consumed, if there is a problem with the computer program, it will also make the post-treatment part of the urea consumed more.
Among the above 8 reasons, 3 of them are related to the quality of the urea fluid, which can be seen that the quality of the urea fluid largely determines the consumption of the urea fluid. The use of poor quality urea fluid will not only consume more urea fluid, but also block the nozzle, block the urea pump or even cause engine failure, so when choosing urea products must choose the regular products, do not lose a lot because of small.
