Failure analysis of vehicle shaking when dump truck brakes
Jun 19, 2003
The vehicle is running normally, and the steering wheel shakes severely when the brake pedal is depressed.
1. In principle: When braking, the uneven force around the brake drum causes up and down movement, and the fault is the front axle shaking.
Common faults are:
① brake shoes working surface is not flat and brake chamfer is too small; ② brake drum out of round;③The steel rim is deformed or the surface of the brake drum is not smooth;④ brake drum and steel ring lamination surface is not flat.
Solution:
1. Check whether the surface of the brake shoe is flat and the chamfer is normal; if the chamfer is too small, polish the chamfer.

2. Check whether the brake drum is out of round; if so, take the boring process.

3. Steel ring deformation or uneven surface with the brake drum. Deformation, take the replacement treatment. If the surface of the brake drum is not flat, take the boring treatment.

4. The brake drum and steel ring fitting surface is not flat, take boring treatment.

Precautions:
1. Be sure to determine the working conditions when the fault occurs: there is no fault during normal driving, and the front axle trembles only when the brakes are applied.
2. In the process of fault inspection, check the brake drum and steel ring individually; first determine whether the rotating parts are out of round or out of balance.
3. The inspection process is comprehensive to partial, from easy to difficult, reducing the workload.
