Pay attention to these four points to keep your truck safe from fire in summer

In the heat of summer, high temperatures can cause a series of fire hazards, such as vehicle spontaneous combustion, cargo fire and other accidents.

The following summarizes several types of common causes of truck fires, you can pay more attention to the following aspects.

The line catches fire

Many trucks catch fire because of electrical circuit fire. What are the reasons for the circuit fire?

First, the power consumption is large, the load of the line is large, and the line is heated and spontaneously ignited; the second is due to the aging of the line and the damage of the line, which will lead to overheating of the line and the vehicle body (short circuit), resulting in sparks, which will cause the line to catch fire and then bring fire to the whole vehicle.

The line of fire is generally located around the engine, the line will be more or less with some oil stains, so when the line overload heat fire, these oil stains will help to ignite the fire will quickly expand. A large part of the oil stains on the engine from the valve cover, oil filter, crankshaft ventilation box and other parts, as well as the diesel fuel line leakage of diesel fuel.

Solution:

Usually, check more to see if the lines of the vehicle are dry and worn, and repair them in time if necessary. At the same time, check whether there is oil leakage in each oil circuit, valve cover, crankshaft ventilation box and other parts for oil leakage. If there is, clean up the oil stains on the engine, and repair the oil leakage to prevent problems before they occur.

The hub and brake system caught fire

There are also many fires caused by trailer axles. One of the reasons is that the trailer hubs are not maintained in time. The internal grease is reduced or deteriorated, and the poor lubrication conditions will lead to an increase in the temperature of the wheel hub, causing the grease in the wheel hub to catch fire.In addition to the reason of the hub, the gap between the brake pads is too small, or the brake suddenly locks up. Long-term braking will also cause the temperature of the brake helmet to rise sharply. The grease in the hub will flow into the brake drum due to the high temperature, causing flames. This will cause the tire to catch fire, which will ignite the sheets and cargo on the carriage after the tire catches fire.

Solution:

Do all the maintenance of the vehicle in time, especially the wheels and brakes. At the same time to strengthen the daily inspection of the vehicle, timely maintenance and repair. The car should be equipped with a fire extinguisher, and master the correct way to operate the fire extinguisher. Check the pressure pointer of the fire extinguisher on a daily basis, and replace the pointer when the pressure is too low.

The goods caught fire

When transporting flammable and explosive goods, such as paper products, cotton, wood products and other flammable goods, fires may occur from time to time due to various factors such as temperature and humidity.

Solution:

(1) When transporting goods, you must understand the type of goods. Transporting flammable and explosive goods requires vehicles with dangerous goods transport qualifications. It is illegal to use ordinary vehicles to transport them.

(2) Do not smoke while driving, and do not throw cigarette butts when you smoke. After the goods are loaded, cover the tarpaulin as much as possible and tie them in place, so that the cigarette butts will not fall into the cargo compartment.

Fire in the cab

It is very dangerous to store flammable and explosive items such as lighters, rust removers, and alcohol in the cab in summer. These flammable and explosive materials can easily cause spontaneous combustion and fire in the high temperature cab.

In winter, drivers will use parking heaters for heating. The temperature around the parking heater, the air outlet, and the exhaust outlet is very high when working, especially the temperature of the exhaust outlet can reach more than 140 degrees. It is very easy to cause a fire if there are burning products nearby.

Solution:

(1) As long as you leave the vehicle for a long time, do not put lighters, rust remover, alcohol and other items in the car, including cell phones, rechargeable batteries, etc., also turn off the power.

(2) do not place flammable items around the parking heater, air vents, otherwise it is easy to ignite these items.

In addition to the corresponding solutions, it is advisable to purchase vehicle spontaneous combustion insurance.

Small flames can be extinguished with a vehicle-mounted fire extinguisher. When the fire is too large, call the police immediately and rely on the fire department to solve the problem. Remember, save people first!
