Daily maintenance methods of water tank fire trucks

1. Headlights:
Rear-end collisions are more common in winter due to fog and frost, which can lead to low visibility. Therefore, it's important to check your headlights, especially the high-mounted brake lights, to ensure they're functioning properly.
2. Tires:
Vehicle performance and tire selection are crucial factors influencing safety. Rainy days can affect road conditions and make vehicles prone to slipping. To better prevent slipping, tires with large treads and deep treads have a smaller contact patch. These tires offer excellent adhesion on wet and muddy roads. In short, tires with deep treads offer greater grip.
3. Anti-corrosion of fire trucks:
(1) Dust prevention: Regular cleaning of fire trucks can effectively reduce the frequency of crevice corrosion and extend the service life of fire trucks. Therefore, we must carefully clean the vehicles every time we go out and return to the team.
(2) Moisture-proof: As long as the atmospheric humidity is kept below the critical temperature, significant atmospheric corrosion of the metal components of the fire truck can be prevented.
(3) Anti-corrosion maintenance: The parts should be observed for a long time. If there are any damaged parts, especially the parts where the paint is rubbed off and easily corroded by water, they should be treated as soon as possible to prevent the corrosion area from being too large.
4. Carry out inspection and maintenance of the fire truck tank, power take-off, rotating shaft, and fire pump:
(1) The fire truck tank should be inspected regularly. If corrosion is found, effective measures should be taken to prevent the rust from expanding. The common treatment method is to clean the rusted part, dry it, and then apply epoxy resin paint or repair welding.
(2) Whether the power take-off and the water pump shaft are working properly is the key to whether the fire truck can absorb and discharge water. Regularly check whether the power take-off rotates normally, whether there are any abnormal sounds, whether the gear is engaged and disengaged smoothly, and whether there is any automatic gear shifting phenomenon. If necessary, perform regular maintenance on it.
(3) The fire pump is the heart of the fire truck. The fire pump should be inspected carefully and all rotating parts should be lubricated with grease. The main technical parameters of the fire pump, such as the maximum water suction depth, water priming time, and maximum flow rate, should be tested regularly. If there is a significant difference from the normal performance, it should be checked and eliminated.
5. Difficulty starting the vehicle:
(1) Dirty fuel injectors: After the vehicle has been running for a while, due to the ingress of external dust and chemical reactions during the combustion process, some colloids are easily adhered to the fuel injectors. These colloids will block the normal fuel injection volume, affect the injector's sensitivity, and cause poor gasoline atomization, thus causing ignition delay and making the vehicle difficult to start. You can go to a car repair shop to clean the fuel injectors.
(2) Battery depletion: Batteries have a certain service life. Batteries that have been used for a long time may have a low initial starting voltage, causing the vehicle body to shake. The battery should be cleaned frequently and the electrolyte should be replenished.
6. Battery and Instrument Maintenance: Appropriate fuses should be used for the vehicle's electrical accessories to prevent damage to the components. Regularly check the functioning of the warning lights and siren systems, and promptly rectify any anomalies. Inspections of the water and lighting systems should include: equipment compartment lights, pump room lights, solenoid valves, liquid level indicators, digital tachometers, and any faults in these meters and switches. To ensure the successful completion of firefighting and emergency rescue missions, proper operation and rational use of fire trucks are essential, ensuring proper maintenance and maximized effectiveness.
