4 Key Points for Truck Tire Maintenance

When buying tires, it is important to pay attention to the specifications.
When purchasing tires, it's important to pay attention to the markings on them, such as the size, for example, 1200R20 (there are also many other markings on the tire, such as tire pressure, speed, etc.). In this example, 1200 represents the tire's cross-section width in millimeters, R indicates radial construction (usually all-steel wire), and 20 indicates the rim diameter in inches. When making a purchase, it's crucial to consider the load capacity of your vehicle, the driving surface conditions, etc., to select the appropriate tires.
Before using new tires, make sure that the inner and outer tires are treated with anti-adhesive treatment.
After purchasing tires, some drivers directly install them on their vehicles. Only during the usage, when the tire becomes flat, they realize that the inner tube and the outer tire are firmly stuck together. To prevent this, before installing the tire on the vehicle, it is recommended to separate the inner tube and outer tire. A common method nowadays is to sprinkle talcum powder between the inner tube and outer tire for isolation.
The quality of the rims should be guaranteed.
With good tires, you also need to choose good quality rims. When we choose a rim, we must pay attention to its size and quality. After cleaning the rim of impurities (do not leave any debris inside) and applying soapy water on the rim's circumference, then assemble the tires. At this point, you will also need a suitable tire cushion to reduce the wear and tear on the tires and rims.
Proper inflation to minimize wear and tear.
Both over-inflated and under-inflated tires can lead to increased wear on the tread and even tire blowouts. It is recommended to increase the tire pressure by 5% to 10% according to the standard tire pressure, adjusting it reasonably based on the load of each axle. It's important to note that tires on the same axle must have consistent tire pressure. In daily driving, regular checks should be performed to ensure the normal use of the tires.
