Reasons for insufficient truck power

To ensure that the engine maximizes its power, it is necessary to meet the following conditions.
1. The fuel supply system is mechanically or electronically controlled to provide the engine with clean fuel, free of or containing little impurities and water, at the right time and in the right quantity.
2. The intake system should provide the engine with sufficient, filtered clean air, so that the ratio of air and fuel close to, and achieve complete combustion. The exhaust system should exhaust the combustion exhaust into the atmosphere as completely as possible in a timely manner.
3. The piston rod mechanism and the gas distribution mechanism should be coordinated, and the intake and exhaust valves should be opened and closed at the right time. Ensure that the cylinder and valve have good sealing performance, at the end of the compression stroke, the pressure and temperature to achieve the best value of fuel combustion.
With that basic knowledge in mind, we're looking at what faults can lead to a lack of engine power.
1. Improperly installed and adjusted throttle cable, this situation can be eliminated simply by adjusting the throttle cable.
2. While stepping on the accelerator pedal to the fullest, the acceleration handle on the fuel injection pump is also limited by the bolt, but the engine speed still cannot reach the rated speed. This can be solved by adjusting the limiting bolt appropriately.
3. Fuel tank filter clogged, fuel coarse filter clogged, fuel fine filter clogged, fuel line is blocked.
4. Oil pump internal leakage, poor oil supply.
5. Poor oil quality, containing much water and impurities.
6. Failure of the air intake system. Intake pipe clogging, bending, dirty air filter caused by intake resistance, poor engine performance.
7. The turbocharger is damaged, resulting in poor turbocharging effect. There is a fault in the bypass valve of the turbocharger, and the turbocharger cannot reach its rated speed, causing inadequate turbocharging effect and engine power loss.
8. The fuel injection pump is out of timing, which will result in poor engine performance.
9. Fuel injection pump failure.
- Plunger assembly in the fuel injection pump worn or sticking.
- Fuel delivery valve in the fuel injection pump damaged.
- Governor in the fuel injection pump sticking or worn.
10. The smoke limiter diaphragm is broken.
11. Poor atomization of the injector, coupling pieces stuck.
13. Exhaust pipe, muffler clogging, exhaust resistance caused by engine powerlessness.
Failure of the electronic control system
1. Injector failure. Due to water and impurities in the diesel fuel, the injector needle valve is stuck and the injector does not spray or atomize, but the EcU may not report an error. Injector wiring harness is worn and disconnected due to vibration, ECVU will report error.
2. Water temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature is too high.
3. Synchronization signal error.
4. Failure of the flow metering unit.
5. Failure of the gas pedal position sensor, plug or wiring harness. It will lead to engine speed limitation, resulting in engine powerlessness.
6. High fuel return temperature causes engine weakness.
Internal engine mechanical failure
1. Cylinder gasket damage, cylinder sealing decreased.
2. Cylinder liner, piston ring, piston ring groove wear over the limit, the cylinder sealing is reduced, resulting in reduced engine power.
3. Poor valve sealing, cylinder pressure drop, resulting in reduced engine power.
4. The valve foot clearance is too large, resulting in insufficient intake, exhaust incomplete, resulting in engine powerlessness.
5. The mismatch between the intake and exhaust valves and the piston connecting rod mechanism results in a decrease in engine performance.
6. High engine coolant temperature leads to worsened engine conditions, resulting in reduced engine power.
Other faults
1. The clutch slipping, the engine power can not be effectively input into the transmission system.
2. The traveling system is not properly adjusted, such as the front, rear wheel hub bearing clearance is too large or too small, resulting in driving resistance.
3. Brake shoe return is not good.
4. The transmission system is not reasonably matched.
5. The vehicle is seriously overloaded.
