Main points for maintenance of mixer trucks in summer

Jul 19, 2025

Hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors and reducers are important components of concrete mixer trucks. Their quality greatly affects the efficiency of the mixer truck, so their maintenance is also of top priority.

1. Replace pipeline sealing gaskets in advance. Rubber products tend to age faster in high temperature in summer, and the working environment of concrete mixer trucks is relatively harsh. Therefore, before entering summer, the pipelines should be checked in advance and the sealing gaskets should be replaced to avoid oil seepage, oil leakage and other faults.

2. When replacing the hydraulic oil, you must also replace the hydraulic filter element. Many users are accustomed to replacing the hydraulic oil with summer-specific oil when summer comes, and the filter element must also be replaced at the same time.

3. Pay attention to check the reducer. When replacing the reducer gear oil, be sure to check the internal gears of the reducer at the same time, and judge whether it needs to be cleaned according to the usage, which will help increase the service life of the reducer.

4. Confirm the function of the radiator. The temperature is high in summer, and the role of the radiator is very important. Therefore, you must check in advance whether the radiator can automatically open when the hydraulic oil is high in temperature to avoid high temperature of the hydraulic oil.

The mixing tank should also be maintained carefully. In the hot summer, it is easy to cause concrete to clump, affecting subsequent work.

1. Pay attention to cleaning and keep it moist. Before each loading, clean the feed port with water to keep it moist; after loading, wash away the remaining concrete with clean water; after unloading, clean the discharge port first, then add 30-40L of clean water into the tank to clean the inside, and release the sewage before the next loading.

2. Check frequently. Fill the water tank with water every time you load materials to facilitate cleaning and use; before leaving work, thoroughly clean the concrete storage tank and the area around the inlet and outlet to ensure that there is no cement or concrete lumps.
