Common sense of highway driving that you must know

As we all know, driving on the highway is completely different from driving on the general road. Because the highway has the characteristics of high speed, clear lane distinction, single vehicle flow, and large traffic, car owners should learn and master the correct driving method of the highway.

1. Drive correctly at high speed

Do not drive in the passing lane for long periods of time, which is very dangerous, and do not drive in the emergency stop zone. Second, if it is not weather with very low visibility, there is no need to keep the hazard warning lights on all the time. In fact, this is not very helpful for safe driving. Third, we must pay attention to maintaining a high distance between vehicles.

You can use the distance warning sign to estimate how much distance you need to keep to the vehicle ahead at the current speed. For example, if your speed is 100 kilometers per hour, the distance from the vehicle in front must be more than 100 meters at this time. Such a safe distance needs to be maintained at all times.

2. Stopping while driving at high speed

In the process of high-speed driving, you should try to drive at a constant speed, and sudden acceleration or deceleration will cause danger. Stopping suddenly on the highway is the most dangerous action. The speed of the car on the highway is very fast, and there is no sign of sudden stop. Once the car behind is tight, the speed is relatively fast, and it is not able to avoid dodging in time, once it hits, it will be a very serious accident.

If you have to stop on the highway, don't brake suddenly, it will make it too late for the car behind to react. The correct way is to slow down in advance and turn on the hazard lights to remind the car behind to pay attention.

4. Flat tires on the highway

Driving on the highway often encounters many unexpected situations, among which puncture is more common and has a higher risk factor. First of all, the car must not speed, the faster the speed, the higher the risk factor when the tire blows out. Usually there will be a sound when the tire blows, so don't turn on the car's audio too much, or you won't be able to hear it. After finding the tire puncture, hold the steering wheel firmly with both hands, do not let the direction deviate, let the car slow down slowly, turn on the hazard warning lights after moving to the emergency stop zone, and then wait for rescue or replace the spare tire according to the actual situation.
