Maintaining these four key parts of your truck can solve 80% of your problems!

Trucks must be well maintained during daily use. After all, trucks are under high-intensity working conditions for a long time, and some parts are prone to problems.

1. Maintenance of wiper blades

In order to ensure driving safety, wiper blades are best replaced once a year. When replacing wiper blades, do not blindly increase the length and width of the wiper strips, because the original factory has made a better design for the washing field of vision. Although privately lengthening the length of the wiper blades can increase the visible range of the window field of vision, it will also increase the burden on electrical equipment such as the wiper motor.

2. Brake system maintenance

The brake system of small trucks mainly uses brake oil to transmit braking force, while heavy trucks use pneumatic brake systems. Different maintenance methods should be used for the two.

For trucks with oil circuit brakes, check the brake oil level before driving. If the oil level drops, immediately check whether there is a leak in the brake oil circuit. Since the brake oil absorbs moisture in the air, it will become ineffective over time, so it is best to replace it once a year.

For pneumatic brake systems, always pay attention to draining the accumulated water in the system and replace the dryer regularly. The moisture in the pneumatic system will corrode the pipeline and affect the braking effect. In severe cases, it can even cause the brake system to fail. In addition, the working condition of the air pump and the wear of the air pump belt should be checked frequently so that they can be replaced in time.

3. Maintenance of truck lights

During the routine maintenance process, you should pay attention to check whether the side turn signals, fog lights, brake lights, etc. are working properly. After checking the truck lights, the owner must also check whether the dust cover of the truck lights is intact.

If the dust cover is damaged, rainwater will easily enter when driving, forming water mist in the inner layer of the lampshade, which will greatly affect the brightness of the lights. Over time, it may also corrode the plugs and wires. The way to deal with water mist is to turn on the headlights and use the heat of the light to make the water mist disappear.

4. Tire maintenance

First, check the tire pressure. Make appropriate adjustments according to the situation. For example, when the road is slippery and the weather is hot, the tire pressure should be lower and the air should not be too full; when the temperature drops suddenly, the tire must be refilled with air pressure to cope with low-temperature roads.

Secondly, check whether the tire has scars, such as possible tire cracks, tire bites, and wheel rib cracks. Check carefully and replace them if necessary.

Third, the front and rear tires have different load-bearing weights and wear, so replace the front and rear tires after driving a certain mileage, which can extend the service life of the tires.

When driving at high speed, if the tire bursts, a major accident will occur. Therefore, be sure to check the condition of the tires before driving every time.
These maintenance techniques seem easy to do, but the key is to persevere. By doing these maintenance techniques well, the truck can be kept in good condition and the engine life can be effectively extended.
