When maintaining your truck, you must check these areas

Usually when we talk about maintenance for trucks, we mean changing the oil. In fact, changing the oil is a major item. In addition, there are many other inspection items to ensure the stability of vehicle operation.

After the maintenance, all aspects of the performance are fine, the vehicle can be in good working condition, and there are no safety hazards, which can be considered a complete maintenance. Therefore, vehicle maintenance is not as simple as changing the oil, but also requires a series of inspections, which usually include the following points.

1. Inspection of the brake system

The most basic inspection is the brake pads and brake discs. When the brake pad thickness is only two or three millimeters, and the brake disc wear depth reaches more than two millimeters, it is time to replace it.

The next step is to check the brake fluid and brake lines to see if there is a lack of brake fluid, if there is oil leakage in the brake lines, and if some hoses are aging.

2. Check your tires

The most basic thing is tire pressure. First, make up the tire pressure. If you find that the tire pressure of some tires is very low, check whether there is a puncture. Secondly, check the degree of aging of the tire and whether it is damaged. If it is seriously aged or seriously damaged, it should be replaced in time. Finally, check the wear of the tire, if there is a wear, you need to find out the reason. If the vehicle has a spare tire, don't forget to check the spare tire. The tire pressure and degree of aging need to be checked. There is often an embarrassing situation that the spare tire has no air pressure when it needs to be replaced. The tire is a component related to safety. Once a tire bursts while driving, it is very dangerous and must be checked carefully.

3. Check the lights

The most important light is the brake light. The owner cannot see whether the brake light is working properly. One person needs to step on the brake while the other person checks from behind. In addition to the brake light, the headlights also need to be checked.

4. Check the chassis

The main inspection points include whether there are any bumps, whether the tie rods are deformed, whether the ball heads are loose, etc. All parts that can only be seen at the bottom of the truck are the objects to be inspected.

5. Check for oil leakage

Oil leakage from the engine or transmission is common after the vehicle ages. If the oil leakage is minor, it will not have much impact, but if the oil leakage is serious and starts to drip, it must be repaired. Otherwise, it will affect the normal operation of the system and shorten its life.
