1. Whether it needs to be removed for cleaning

Whether the throttle needs to be removed for cleaning depends mainly on the type of throttle and the difficulty of removal. It is undeniable that it is cleaner and easier to clean after removal than to clean without removal. After removal, not only the visible parts on the front can be cleaned, but also the back of the throttle baffle and the deep part of the throttle can be cleaned. If it is not removed, only the front of the throttle can be cleaned, and the back of the baffle near the rotating shaft is not easy to clean. Therefore, as long as it is easy to disassemble, it is recommended to remove it for cleaning. 

2. Will frequent disassembly lead to damage to the throttle?

No, it won't if it is operated properly. The throttle has four screws in total, and the torque is not large, so it is very easy to remove. If it is cleaned once every 20,000 kilometers, it needs to be cleaned ten times after running 200,000 kilometers. However, most vehicles are eliminated before they reach this mileage. Of course, you still need to handle it with care after disassembly. Don't let it fall to the ground, as this may affect its life. 

3. Will frequent cleaning of the throttle affect its service life?

Theoretically, it will not affect it, but in practice, some vehicles have experienced failures shortly after cleaning the throttle. In fact, this is not simply caused by cleaning the throttle, but more due to the aging of the throttle body itself. The throttle body is aging, and the shaft is not tightly sealed. When the cleaning agent is sprayed, the cleaning agent will penetrate into the throttle body along the gap of the shaft. Because the cleaning agent is corrosive to a certain extent, it will damage the circuit board and electronic components inside. 

Therefore, special attention should be paid when cleaning a throttle with a lot of kilometers. Although the carbon deposits on the shaft are heavy and difficult to clean, you should not spray the cleaning agent on the shaft. You can spray it near the baffle or shaft and let the cleaning agent flow over. Alternatively, you can spray the cleaning agent on a rag, apply it on the carbon deposits, soak it for a while, and then wipe it gently.
