1. Preheating while driving
Truck drivers usually start the engine and wait for the coolant temperature to reach the normal level before driving. However, some drivers accelerate while stationary to quickly raise the engine temperature in order to save time. This practice is actually quite harmful: first, it wastes time; second, it consumes a lot of fuel; and third, it can cause wear and damage to the engine.
The best practice is to start the engine, wait for the RPM to stabilize, and then begin driving while gently pressing the accelerator. This should be done in a lower gear at a reduced speed, which allows the engine temperature to rise more quickly and reduces wear on the engine. Once the coolant temperature reaches 80 degrees Celsius, you can drive normally.
2. Increase the speed as soon as possible after starting
Some drivers may not have goods to transport for the time being, or they are not in a hurry, so they will slowly increase the speed to the highest gear after starting, which actually does not save fuel at all.
When all indicators are normal, the driver can step on the accelerator and quickly increase the speed to the highest gear, which saves much more fuel than slowly speeding up, but this must be done under absolutely safe conditions!
3. Drive at a constant speed
No matter which road you are on, as long as it is normal driving, you can save a lot of fuel by driving at a constant speed. Do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly.
4. Don't brake too often
Some drivers drive recklessly, often braking suddenly or stepping on the accelerator hard, like riding a roller coaster.
This is very fuel-consuming! Because every time you brake, you have to step on the accelerator to speed up, and sudden braking is often accompanied by a sudden acceleration of the accelerator, which consumes a lot of fuel!
5. Correctly use the fuel-saving switch
The fuel-saving switch in the truck is definitely useful, it depends on how you use it. In fact, it is very simple, just follow the instructions on the fuel-saving switch: when the fuel-saving switch is turned to "empty vehicle", the vehicle engine power will be reduced, which can help the vehicle save fuel; when it is turned to "heavy load", the engine will output full power.
