▎Rattling when braking

When you apply the brakes, the braking system makes a sharp, harsh metallic rubbing sound.

Source of the problem: It can be caused by thinning brake pads, pitted brake pads, objects in the brake pads, or rusted brake discs.

SOLUTION: CHECK YOUR BRAKE PADS AND DISCS REGULARLY.

Compared with the vehicle's power performance, its braking performance will have a direct impact on driving safety, so be sure to develop a good habit of regularly checking brake pads and discs.

Typical brake pads need to be replaced after 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers, and brake discs need to be replaced after 60,000 to 70,000 kilometers, depending on the driver's usage and maintenance.

▎ Brake pedal travel becomes longer

This can be simply understood as the brakes becoming softer.

Source of the problem: Mainly due to air entering the brake system, lack of brake fluid, potential leaks, or severe wear of the brake pads.

SOLUTION: CHECK THE BRAKE SYSTEM REGULARLY.

The brake system is vital to the safety of the truck's operation. The braking system of minivans mainly uses brake fluid to transmit the braking force, while heavy trucks use pneumatic braking system, and the two should be maintained in different ways.

MINIVANS: Brake fluid should not be reused and all brake fluid that has been bled from the system should be discarded.

Heavy Duty Vans: Of all the items to maintain your brake system, checking the brake fluid level regularly is the most important. Check it at least once a month, and more often is even better.

▎ Brakes stiffen up

Source of the problem: Unassisted brakes due to faulty vacuum booster; caused by frequent application of brakes, etc.

SOLUTION: REGULARLY CHECK AIR BRAKES AND BRAKE FLUID.

For air brake systems, it is important to remove water from the system frequently and replace the drier periodically. Moisture in the air system will corrode the lines and affect the braking effect, and in serious cases, even lead to brake system failure.

For trucks with oil brakes, check the fluid level of the brake fluid before driving. If you notice a drop in the oil level, immediately check the brake fluid circuit for leaks. If there are bubbles in the brake fluid, or the oil is dirty, it means that the brake fluid has deteriorated, please replace it as soon as possible, preferably once a year.

▎ Bouncing when applying the brakes

Source of the problem: Brake discs, brake pads with uneven surfaces, deformed rims, etc.

SOLUTION: CHECK BRAKE PADS AND RIMS REGULARLY.

Rims play a vital role in the process of braking, be sure to do a good job of checking the rust-resistant lubricant on the contact surface of the rims, and if you find a problem replace it in time.
