Arrangement of urea tank by Chinese manufacturers

Some urea tanks are in the front end position, arranged next to the radiator.

This arrangement not only provides a certain level of protection for the tank and pipelines, but also optimizes the layout of the vehicle chassis. However, it can be more complicated to refill, as it requires opening the front panel.

Some vehicles have the urea tank placed in the left rear of the driver's cabin, with the fuel tank underneath. The urea tank is positioned quite high, making it inconvenient to climb up and refill the urea.

There are also models that have the urea tank arranged at the right rear of the cab, again not so convenient when adding urea.

  3

The urea tank placed in front of the left fuel tank, but it's not so easy to fill it because of the side deflector above.

  4

There is also this kind of integrated urea tank, which has no cover on top, making it even more convenient to add urea.

  5

It is worth mentioning that GAC Hino 700heavy-duty trucks have an ideal location for the urea tank, which is designed under the battery, which not only makes the volume of the urea tank larger, but also makes it easier to refill.

Arrangement of urea tanks by manufacturers in other countries

First up is the Scania tractor, V8 model, which has the urea tank arranged on the inside of the beam, while the urea tank filler is extended to the back of the fuel tank. This type of design is still rare, and its urea filling will be easier.

 7

The urea tank of the MAN new TGX series heavy truck is also located in front of the left fuel tank, and its filling process may be interfered by the overhead deflector.

 8

The new Mercedes-Benz Actros heavy truck has its urea tank placed at the rear left of the driver's cabin, with a step board underneath for easier access during refilling.

 9

Finally, there is the Volvo New FH heavy truck, and the position of its urea tank is located at the right rear of the cab. However, this truck has a detailed design feature, which is a small opening on the deflector of the urea tank filling port, making it very convenient to add urea after flipping it.
